Topic: Some studies on the multi-scale simulation of thermal-hydraulics for numerical reactor

Numerical reactor is a new technology being developed in nuclear industry. It requires multi-scale and multi-physical filed coupling simulations. For thermal-hydraulics, the issue is accomplished by integrating high-resolution models and strongly coupled methods. Specifically, the critical analysis is the fine-mesh fluid dynamics/heat transfer solution in ‘component’ scale (subchannel or CFD analysis) and its coupling with ‘system’ scale. This presentation will introduce several programs about the numerical reactor technology and show some preliminary studies of the author on the high-resolution and multi-scale simulations for reactor thermal-hydraulics.
About the speaker:
Dr.Chen Jiayue, associate researcher at IFCEN, received Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2018. Main research interest is focused on development of advanced thermal-hydraulic code for nuclear reactor.
